In today’s world of complex food, nutrition, and agriculture systems, we need leaders with a deep knowledge of the economic, ecological, and social forces driving food systems. Our Master of Science in Sustainable Food Systems prepares you for a graduate-level interdisciplinary understanding of sustainable agriculture and diets.
You'll have an opportunity to work with brilliant thought-leaders in Sustainable Food Systems including Program Director, Dr. Robin Currey. Dr. Currey is an ethnoecologist, the former Director of Mercy Corps in Kyrgyzstan, an international development and humanitarian organization, and the current non-executive Director for a Mercy Corps-founded bank. Dr. Currey's work has been widely published and she has made presentations of her research across the U.S. and throughout the world.
Our program offers optional concentrations across three distinct areas of focus. Study Sustainable Diets and Biodiversity, Food Justice, or Food Entrepreneurship. Or, explore our MBA-MSFS dual-degree pathway.
Designed to make virtual connections and help communities through the COVID-19 crisis, the MSFS has presented weekly and bi-weekly "Food Systems Friday" Webinars on Fridays, starting at noon Pacific. Each episode features faculty and special guests from around the globe to explore many topics related to the creation of a more just and sustainable food system.
